The following Employee Salary List table shows Employee Name vs Salary. We can create Pie charts with the following table for 4 different cases. We will show you how we can Rotate these Pie Charts.


Case-1: Rotate 2D Pie Chart

We have created a 2D Pie Chart to show the Salary with Employee name. Now, we want to rotate the first slice of the chart by an angle of 120°, which is a blue marked region. We can Rotate the Pie Chart at any angle according to our needs.

➤ First of all, we have to Right-click anywhere on the Pie Chart.

➤ After that, we have to select the Format Data Series option.

➤ Then, we will see that the Angle of first slice is set to 0°.

➤ Now, we will type our required rotation angle in the Angle of the first slice box.

➤ We typed 120, as we want to rotate the Pie Chart by 120°.

➤ Finally, we can see the Rotation of angle in the Pie Chart. We can easily notice that the blue marked region has changed its position. Therefore, the whole Pie Chart has been rotated.

Case-2: Rotate a 3D Pie Chart

In this case, from the table Employee Salary List we have created a 3D Pie Chart with Employee Name and Salary. Now, we want to rotate the first slice by 120° (for simplicity and continuous progress we are taking the same angle, feel free to rotate as you want).

➤ To begin with, we will click on the chart.

➤ Then, we will select the Format tab.

➤ From the Format tab, select Format Selection.

➤ Now, we will see that the Angle of first slice is set to 0°.

➤ We will type our required rotation angle in the Angle of the first slice box.

➤ We typed 120, as we want to rotate the Pie Chart by 120°.

➤ Then, press Enter.

➤ Finally, we can see the Rotation of the first slice of the 3D Pie Chart by 120°.

Case-3: Rotate Doughnut Pie Chart

In this case, we have created a Doughnut Pie Chart using Employee Name and Salary from the table Employee Salary List. We want to rotate the first slice by 120°.

➤ After that, we will type 120° in the Angle of first slice box.

➤ Finally, we can see the Rotation of the first slice of the Doughnut Pie Chart by 120°.

Case-4: Change Legend Position in Pie Chart

Though the change of legends’ position may not the conventional rotation of a Pie Chart, still you will find it handy. In the following 2D Pie Chart, we want to change the Legend position from Bottom to Right.

➤ At First, we have to select the Pie chart, and then click on Chart Elements.

➤ After that, from the Chart Elements, we have to select Legend and click on Right.

➤ Finally, we will see Right aligned Legend Position.
