1. Center a Title Using Excel Ribbon

Let’s say, we have a dataset shown in the B4:D8 cells. Here, the dataset contains the Categories, Countries and Quantities of some Products respectively. The dataset has a title named ‘Use of Excel Ribbon’. We can center the title by using Excel Ribbon easily. So, without further delay, let’s see the steps for doing this.

Steps:

  • First, we can see that the title is in cell B2.

  • Now, we need to select the cells in which we want to center the text. Here, we have chosen cells B2:D2.

  • Next, go to the Home tab and click the button Merge & Center.

  • After that, the title will look like this:

  • At this time, with the title still selected, click the Middle Align button in the Home tab.

  • Eventually, the title is centered successfully like in the picture below.

  • Now that the title has been centered, we can add whatever formatting we want to make it look nice. Here, we have selected the Home tab and clicked the Cell Styles.

  • Later, select any style for the cell from the window. For example, we have selected the Heading 2 option from the Titles and Headings section.

  • At this moment, the title will look like this:

  • Moreover, we can change the title’s font size by selecting it.

  • Besides, we can change the fill color of the cell by selecting:

Desired Cell > Home tab > Fill Color.

2. Apply Excel Format Cells Option to Center a Title

Suppose, we need to center the title naming ‘Use of Format Cells Option’ of a dataset B4:D8 in Excel. Previously, we used Excel Ribbon to center the title. In this method, we are going to use the Excel Format Cells option to do so. Here, we can center titles across multiple cells without merging them. So, without further delay, let’s see the steps one by one.

  • In the beginning, select the cells that we need to center the title across.
