Prior to fixing this error, make sure that you have a solid concept of print settings in Excel. However, in this tutorial, I’ll demonstrate 3 methods to you to fix the error of not having enough memory while accomplishing print in Excel.

You might get the following error message while you command the Excel file (.xlsx or .xlsm). Well, there may be several reasons for such an error. For example, the issue of permission on Windows and having outdated drivers can generate this type of blunder. Now, I’ll show you the methods to fix this.

1. Using the Registry Editor Application

In the beginning method, you’ll see the process of modifying the permission setting to fix the error of not having enough memory while printing in Excel. And you can easily but carefully deal with the permission settings using the Registry Editor.

Step 01: Changing the Permission Settings

Just type Registry Editor or something like that in the search bar. Immediately, you’ll get the icon of the Registry Editor application. So, click on the icon.

Alternatively, you can type Regedit in the space after the Open option in the Run command. And press OK.

Instantly, you’ll get the following figure as shown below. Therefore, click on the HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

Right then click on the Software option.

Again, press the cursor over the Microsoft option.

And click on the Windows NT, and subsequently on the Current Version option.

After that, move the cursor over the Windows option and right-click over the option. Then, choose the Permissions option.

Note: For your convenience, the total procedure can be summarised as Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows.

Consequently, you’ll see the following options under the Security bar in the Permission for Windows dialog box. So, click on RESTRICTED and check the box of Full Control under the Allow section. Thereafter, press Apply and OK.

Again, click on the Add option to include another security option.

Now, type “Everyone” in the space below the Enter the object names to select option and press OK.

Furthermore, check the boxes of Full Control and Read under the Allow option and press Apply and OK respectively.

Step 02: Opening the Service Manager

Open the Service Manager by typing the Services in the Windows Search bar.

Then, you’ll see such a dialog box and find the Print Spooler option. Right then, right-click on the option and choose the Stop option.

Again, keep running the Printer Spooler option by clicking on the Start option.

Step 03: Restarting your PC

Finally, you need to restart your PC by clicking on the Windows key and choosing the Restart option.

Now, try to print the Excel file, you shouldn’t encounter the not enough memory error.

2. Fix the Error by Updating Printer Driver

If your Windows printer driver is not updated, you might see the error of not having enough memory while printing in Excel.

However, you can easily update the driver if necessary.

To do this, just type Device Manager or such stuff.

Then, you’ll see the dialog box of the Device Manager, and click on the printer that you are using. Therefore, right-click on the printer and choose the Update driver option. Hence, your printer driver will be updated automatically.

But if your driver is up-to-date or you updated but you are getting the error again, you may download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool if you are using a printer from the HP company.

If the tool suggests you reinstall the printer driver, just visit the Printer Driver and enter your printer model as shown in the below figure.

After clicking on the Submit option, you’ll get drivers to download. So download the drivers and install them.

3. Fixing the Default Printer Settings

Lastly, if you don’t set your printer as the default printer, you may get the error of not having enough memory while printing in Excel. The issue may arise as the dataset that you want to print has to be converted from the PC to the printer before printing. So, if the default printer is not the printer that you’re using regularly it may cause such type of error.

Luckily, the process of specifying the default printer is an easy task.

Just go to the Settings of Printer & Scanner by typing the Printers & Scanners or something like that in the Windows Search bar.

After clicking on the icon of Printers & Scanners, you’ll get the following dialog box.

And uncheck the box before the Let Windows manage my default printer option.

Now, click on the printer that you’re using and choose the Manage option.

Excel Not Enough Memory Error in Excel

Probably, you might see the error of not having enough memory while working in Excel. You might see the error especially when you’re moving a chart or copying a large dataset, doing re-calculations, or even running VBA code in Excel.
