This is the dataset for today’s article. There are some salespersons with the amount of sales for the 1st quarter of 2022. I will use the AutoSum feature to calculate the total sales.

1. Use Home Tab to AutoSum Horizontally in Excel

You can use the AutoSum feature in the Home tab. To perform AutoSum, follow these steps.

Steps:

  • First, select F5.
  • Then, go to the Home
  • After that, select AutoSum.

=SUM(C5:E5)

  • Then, press ENTER. Excel will return the output.

  • Finally, use the Fill Handle to AutoFill up to F11.

2. Apply AutoSum Feature from Formula Tab in Excel

Now, you will also find the AutoSum feature in the Formula tab. You can also use the feature from that tab.

Steps:

  • First, select F5.
  • Then, go to the Formula
  • After that, select AutoSum.

Steps:

  • Select F5.

  • Then, press ALT+=. You will see that Excel will enter the following formula in F5.
=SUM(C5:E5)

4. Perform AutoSum to All Cells at Once.

In this section, I will show how to perform AutoSum to a selected range. The advantage of this method is that you do not need to AutoFill cells in this method.

Steps:

  • Select the range F5:F11.
